An educational and panoramic excursion not to be missed is certainly the Falcade Geological Path. It winds along the Gavon stream, connecting the hamlet of Marmolada with the locality of Bosch Brusà, and it consists of 15 easy-to-follow stages. At each stage there is a very detailed illustrative panel, thanks to which it is possible to learn more geological information about the area. Along the path you can reach some already-mentioned interesting destinations, such as the Barezze waterfall and the Bosch Brusà hut.
Amateur astronomers will find, a few kilometers from the campsite, the opportunity to visit the Planetarium of San Tomaso with luminous projections reproducing the celestial vault, as well as simulations of astronomical phenomena!
ORRIDO DELLE COMELLE & BIOTOPE
Discovery the Val Gares
It is possible to walk through the famous “Orrido delle Comelle”, a natural canyon connecting the Garès Valley with the Comelle Plain. This Dolomite gorge is not suitable for families, as it requires good physical skills and a via ferrata equipment to be traveled in complete safety.
Nature lovers can stop and admire the Garès Valley Biotope located at the foot of the waterfalls. It is a tourist-educational area of significant naturalistic interest.
