Tabià

The characteristic wooden barns

Along the village streets you can admire the characteristic wooden barns of the Biois Valley, the Tabià , once used for cattle and hay. Currently, about 300 Tabià are kept in semi-original conditions throughout the valley. On the main beam of the roof, the so-called “colmo”, the date of construction and subsequent restorations are engraved, while the classic stone base housed the stable where roosters, hens, rabbits, pigs and goats provided for the sustenance of the family
