Se Desmonteghea
Se Desmonteghea
The most famous event
The most famous event in Falcade and in the entire Biois Valley is “Se Desmonteghea“, an event coinciding with the closing of the summer tourist season, and of great cultural, historical and folkloric value. “Se Desmonteghea” revisits a age-old tradition: the descent of animals from mountain pastures, the so-called transhumance. This popular festival takes place every year on the last weekend of September, and it is an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of cattle breeders, mountain huts, their typical cuisine and all the culture of this area.
The event lasts three days and is mainly held on the Falcade plain, which hosts a large tent where you can taste the symbolic dishes of Se “Desmonteghea” and discover the music of local folklore with the performance of the Val Biois Folk Group. All of this is completed by a colorful market of handcrafts and typical products, with food stands and entertainment for children. The most awaited moment of the event takes place on Saturday morning, when a colorful parade winds through the streets of Falcade displaying herds and flocks decorated for the party
Among the huts that participate in the event, the closest to the campsite are Malga Valles Alto, Malga Valles Basso, Malga Le Buse, Malga Ai Lach and Malga Stia. They can be visited through wonderful excursions all throughout the summer
